Eda Louise Koehler 94, passed away peacefully on April 21 st surrounded by the love of her family.
Born November 27, 1929 to the late Francesco and Maria Pala who immigrated from Sardinia to the United States. Eda graduated from Our Lady of the Elms High School where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
After high school Eda fell in love and married David M Koehler. They spent 50 beautiful years together in Akron raising 6 children with the last child being their “Downs Angel”. Eda was a devout Catholic making sure that her children attended both Catholic grade school and high schools. She was member of the Christ Child Society and worked with the ladies of St. Sebastion’s parish cleaning the altar each week.
Eda was preceded in death by her husband, David M Koehler; and daughter, Beth Ann Irvin; brothers, Johnand Paul Pala; sisters, Frances George, Antonia (SP) Shambach and Nancy Adler.
She is survived by her children, Frank (Debie) Koehler of Spencer NY, David Koehler of Akron, Ohio, Kristene (Frank) Libordi of Hornell, NY, Paul (Teenia) Koehler of Seville, Ohio, Nancy Koehler of Akron Ohio; forever son-in-law Alan Irvin of Tallmadge Ohio; and special friend, Lisa Babick; grandchildren, Alan (Kristin) Irvin II, Michael Irvin, Jason VanOxx, Jennifer (Jason) Flaitz, Dory (Max) King and Eva Koehler; great-grandchildren, Alan Irvin III, Julia Irvin, Michael Irvin, Mackenzie Flaitz, Emily Flaitz, Thomas Flaitz, Olivia Flaitz, Taylor VanOxx, Quintin VanOxx, Micah King and Hazel King. Also survived by sister Mary Silashki of Akron, and sister-in-law Kathleen Koehler. Karason of Minneapolis.
Calling Hours will be Thursday April 25th from 5-7 PM at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 S Miller Rd., Fairlawn, Ohio 44333. Family and friends are invited to St Sebastian’s Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave, Akron Ohio on Friday, April 26th at 11AM where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 100 E Waterloo Rd, Akron Ohio 44319.
