Angelo Nicoloff, 97, passed away peacefully on April 7 after a long and fulfilling life. Born in Akron Ohio on April 29, 1926, he was a lifetime resident who graduated from Garfield High School ‘45, and the University of Akron ‘49, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He was an army veteran of the Korean War. Angelo retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 38 years of service. He was a founding member of St. Thomas Eastern Orthodox Church. Angelo will be remembered for his devotion to family, church, work, and his Bulgarian heritage. His life revolved around the family, always providing for his wife and daughters. He loved attending church picnics, dances, MPO conventions and religious celebrations. He also loved all kinds of food. There wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t sample at least once. He was the first guy on the block to install whole house air conditioning, own a colored tv, and 8mm film camera. He will forever be remembered for taking home videos and documenting our family gatherings. He was a meticulous record keeper, on film and on the written page. Last but not least, this was a man who loved a deal. He was a good comparative shopper. He wasn’t cheap, but he was frugal and lived within his means. Next time you get a good deal, think of him.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary, daughters; Annette Nicoloff(Kris Mikolajczyk), Barbara(Steve) Talevich; grandson Aaron Talevich and his fiancé Alyssa Kurkul.
